What is the Auto-Enable Looks feature?

Overview

Auto-Enable Looks is a feature that automatically adds eligible Looks to a collection when all products from a specific Look are present in that collection.

The setting is configured at the collection level and is disabled by default.

To use the Auto-Enable Looks feature, your Looks must already be created in Tagalys. You can automate the process using Shopify metafields. To learn more about creating Looks automatically, read the guide on Automating the creation of Looks.

How Auto-Enable Looks Works

Look Eligibility

A Look is eligible for auto-enabling only when all products in the Look are present in the collection.

• Full product match: Look is eligible.
• Partial product match: Look is not eligible.

Look Ordering

Auto-enabled Looks follow the collection's configured sort order.

For example:

• Collections sorted by Trending: Looks containing products with higher Trending Scores appear first. If the sort order is changed to Discount Price: Looks are ordered based on discount price after the collection is saved.

Changing the collection's sort order can therefore change the order of auto-enabled Looks.

Looks With Shared Products

When multiple eligible Looks contain the same products, Tagalys enables only one Look to prevent product repetition across Looks.

Tagalys selects the Look using the following priority:

• Look with the highest number of products.
• If product counts are equal, then the most recently modified Look.

When Auto-Enable Looks Runs

Looks are enabled in the background.

• When the collection is saved after the feature is enabled or its configuration is changed.
• Every 24 hours as part of the automatic background process.

Since processing occurs in the background, newly auto-enabled Looks may not appear immediately in the collection preview until the processing is complete.

How Existing Looks Are Handled

When Auto-Enable Looks runs:

• Pinned Looks remain unchanged and retain their existing position.
• Other Unpinned Looks are re-evaluated each time Auto-Enable Looks runs.

Any previously enabled unpinned Looks may therefore change based on the current matching products.

Tip: Pin a Look if it needs to remain in the collection regardless of the results of Auto-Enable Looks.

Enable Auto-Enable Looks

1. Open the specific collection that you want auto looks enabled
2. In the Curate panel, open the Looks tab on the right,
3. Click Look settings.
4. Enable the Auto-Enable Looks toggle.
5. Review the conditions displayed in the confirmation prompt and click Done.
6. Save the collection.

Auto-Enable Looks will run in the background after the collection is saved.
