Magento Commerce does not allow users to use attributes to create categories & Magento Enterprise has limited attributes like 'Product Type', 'Colour', 'Date', 'Price', 'Quantity', 'SKU', etc. On the Tagalys dashboard, merchandisers would be able to use other attributes from the product catalog like 'Discount Percentage', 'Discount Amount', 'Search Term', etc. along with data from analytics like 'Add to carts', 'Revenue', 'Conversion', etc.
Tagalys smart collections | categories have made it easier to create collections | categories with a wide range of data conditions and the visual ease of creating collections | categories.
Here are some use cases of collections that can be created on the Tagalys dashboard.
New Arrivals: Tagalys enables merchants to create collections based on the date at which a product was created or published in Shopify. Here is how you can create a 'New Arrivals' collection using data from the product catalogue.- Click on 'Create Smart Collection'. In the case of Magento, click on 'Create Smart Category'
- Add the name of the collection | category in step 1 and choose a condition in step 2 to define the collection | category. 'New Arrivals' collection | category can be created by using a date field like 'Published at' or 'Created at'.
- In this example, we have added a condition of 'Published at'. Since this condition is based on the data available from the product catalogue, the Collection | Category would be updated with products that match this condition as and when they are added to the catalogue.
- Click on step 3 to sort the products in this collection | category. In this example, a sequence of different product types is created to sort the products.
- Click on the 'Product Type' tag from the sequence shortcut. Select the tags to create a sequence and click 'Save'
- Select the number of products per sequence and the number of products up to which the sequence must be applied to.
- Set the default sort order as 'Published at' and 'Descending' to show the latest products on top.
- Click on 'Save and Publish' to publish the collection | category
Best Sellers: Using Tagalys to create a collection | category enables you to use product engagement metrics to define the products that can be included or excluded.
- Click on 'Create Smart Collection'. In the case of Magento, click on 'Create Smart Category'
- Add the name of the collection | category in step 1 and choose a condition in step 2 to define the collection | category. 'Best Sellers' collection | category can be created by using one of the 7/14/30 days analytics data like 'Units Sold', 'Product Views', 'Revenue', etc. In this example, 'Units Sold' from the last 30 days is used as a condition to find products.
- Click on step 3 to sort the products in this collection | category. In this example, the products are sorted using the field 'Revenue last 30 days' and 'Descending'.
- Click on 'Save and Publish' to publish the collection | category
Sale: Creating a sale collection | category is now easier. Using the 'Discount Percentage' field, you can now set a range of discounts as one of the conditions to create a collection | category.
- Click on 'Create Smart Collection'. In the case of Magento, click on 'Create Smart Category'
- Add the name of the collection | category in step 1 and choose a condition in step 2 to define the collection | category. 'Sale' collection | category can be created by using 'Discount Percentage'.
- Click on step 3 to sort the products in this collection | category. In this example, the products are sorted using the 'Trending' Global Sort Option. Click on 'Save and Publish' to publish the collection | category.
Clearance: The data from analytics can be used to create a dynamic collection | category for clearance.
- Click on 'Create Smart Collection'. In the case of Magento, click on 'Create Smart Category'
- Add the name of the collection | category in step 1 and choose a condition in step 2 to define the collection | category. 'Clearance' collection | category can be defined using the 'Units Sold', 'Inventory', and 'Published at' fields to add products that did not sell enough units, high in stock, and old.
- Click on step 3 to sort the products in this collection | category. In this example, the products are sorted using a sequence and each sequence is sorted by 'Units Sold (last 30 days)' and 'Descending'. Click on 'Save and Publish' to publish the collection | category.
