The term Smart Categories (Magento) and Smart Collections (Shopify) refers to the ability to create dynamic product listing pages wherein, the list of products included and excluded are controlled by a set of data conditions set by the merchant. The Smart Category or Collections also gives the merchant the ability to define automated product sorting using data to improve performance.
These Categories or Collections are stored in your eCommerce platform, merchandised by Tagalys and the front end is rendered by your eCommerce platform for SEO and performance requirements.
For instance, a merchandiser wants to display trousers that are priced at $75 or less on a Category or Collection. The user can create a Smart Category or a Smart Collection and set the conditions to product type = trousers and price < $75. The products that meet these conditions, will continue to be displayed and updated on Tagalys automatically.
